Man Wanted on Felony Warrant in Virginia Arrested in Venango County

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Police say a man who was wanted on a felony warrant out of Virginia was arrested in Franklin on Tuesday.

Around 4:50 p.m. on June 15, Franklin-based State Police received a call about an erratic driver on US 322 headed toward the city of Franklin. State Police then requested that Franklin Police be on the look out for a black Mitsubishi Eclipse with Virginia plates.

Franklin City Police and Franklin-based State Police were subsequently able to get the suspect vehicle stopped at Liberty Street and 8th Street in Franklin.

Police say after making contact with the driver, identified as 24-year-old Nikolai Iulionov, of Williamsburg, Virginia, it was determined that Iulionov had felony warrants out of Virginia. A hit confirmation then confirmed that Iulionov was wanted by the Harrisonburg Police Department.

Iulionov was then taken into custody and advised that he was under arrest for his warrants. He was taken to the Franklin-based State Police station and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish.

Iulionov was subsequently lodged in the Venango County jail to await extradition back to Virginia.
