Police: Burglar Caught, Detained by Family in Jefferson County

BROCKWAY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police say a man who broke into a resident in Brockway was caught and detained by a family before police arrived at the scene.

Around 9:05 p.m. on October 5, DuBois-based State Police were dispatched to a residence on Lynton Street in Brockway Borough for a report of a burglary in progress.

Police say when they arrived at the scene, the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Bradley Huey, of Brockway, had already been detained on the ground by a known 28-year-old female victim from Brockway and her family members.

According to police, further investigation found that Huey had entered the victim’s residence by forcing his way through the back door, causing damage.

Huey was also determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance, according to police.

He was subsequently transported to the Jefferson County Jail.

Court documents indicate Huey was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 8:15 a.m. on October 6, on the following charges:

– Burglary – Overnight Accommodations; Person Present, Felony 1
– Criminal Trespass-Break Into Structure, Felony 2 (two counts)
– Criminal Mischief – Damage Property, Misdemeanor 2 (three counts)
– Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense, Misdemeanor 3
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

Unable to post $50,000.00 (10%) monetary bail, he remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
