Robert M. Bonfilio

Robert M. Bonfilio, 84, of 1049 Evergreen St., Brockway, passed away Tuesday (October 12, 2021) at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born May 5, 1937, in Kane, he was a son of the late Santo and Mary Philips Bonfilio. On July 22, 1972, in Howell Twp., NJ, he married Sieglinde “Linda” Partala who survives.

Robert was a graduate of Kane High School and received an associate degree from DeVry Institute in Chicago.

He was a member of the American Legion in Brockway and a past member of the Kane Elks Club.

He had been employed at Brockway Glass which later became Owens Illinois.

He was a shop steward and had been president of the #182 Glass Blowers Association.

He had worked 30 years in the Freehold, NJ Plant and finished one year for Owens Illinois Ross Moulding in Crenshaw.

He served in the US Army for two years and the Reserves for another four years.

Robert loved hunting and fishing in his free time. He participated in the Fishing Rodeo for the kids in the Brockway Handgunners Club.

He also enjoyed his time with family and friends, watching football games and spending time with his son John and his friends, taking them back and forth to the Dubois Mall.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Linda Bonfilio, is a son John M. Bonfilio of Lenexa, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by four brothers, Frank Bonfilio, John Bonfilio, Santo Bonfilio and Art Bonfilio and two sisters, Filimena M. Bonfilio and Theresa Gallo.

Friends will be received in the Gathering Space at St. Callistus Catholic Church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday (October 30, 2021).

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am with The Rev. William O’Brien, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Callistus Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
