Helen J. Murajda

Helen J. Murajda, 90, of Delancey, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Christ the King Manor.

She was born at home in Adrian on March 05, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles George Murajda and Helen (Prehoda) Murajda.

Ms. Murajda was a very active member of St. Adrian Catholic Church and later Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church.

She was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the choir.

Helen enjoyed helping with the annual festival at St. Adrian’s and loved the church picnics and events.

Helen was a graduate of St. Adrian High School and went on to continue her education for many years.

She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the National Education Association.

For nearly twenty-five years she worked as a school psychologist for Clarion Intermediate Unit in Brockway.

She was a child advocate, particularly for the under privileged.

When she discovered a need, Helen would go to great lengths to see that the child got the necessity.

She loved children.

After retirement, she was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Pisarcik of Adrian, Anne Murajda of Adrian and Martha Bembenick of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Michael “Pepper” Murajda of Massillon, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Margaret Borys and Teresa Murajda; two brothers, John Murajda and Carl “Elmer” Murajda.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2021, at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, celebrated by Monsignor Father Joseph Riccardo.

Interment will follow at Adrian-Anita Roman Catholic Cemetery, McCalmont Township.

Memorial donations may be made in Helen’s memory to the local St. Vincent De Paul.
