Betty Marie Knox, 91, of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
She was born December 1, 1930, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late and Della M. (Barnett) and Francis E. Shirley.
On October 21, 1950, she married James Donald Knox, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 23, 2017.
Betty worked part time in the school district cafeteria for twenty-three years and five years full time.
She attended the Covode United Methodist Church.
Betty enjoyed her family, canning and camping.
She is survived by three children, daughter Shirley Farmery and husband Dwight of Marion Center, son Dennis R. Knox, Sr. and wife Mary Jane of Punxsutawney, and son Mark D. Knox and wife Linda of Punxsutawney; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Irene Shirley and two brothers, James and Ronald Shirley.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Guy Smith officiating.
Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Covode.
