Audrey “Elaine” (Brooks) Zolner

Audrey “Elaine” (Brooks) Zolner was born May 6, 1939, daughter of the late Rev. Ralph and Viona (Bushley) Brooks.

Elaine graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1957.

Following high school, Elaine started her first job as a cashier at Tronzo’s Market in Punxsutawney, PA.

She married David Zolner on December 24, 1958 in Big Run, PA and then moved to Erie, where they would start a family soon after.

Elaine was a homemaker for many years, loving to care and spend time with her family.

Elaine was a master with needle and thread.

She upholstered furniture, made costumes for the Erie Ballet, helped with repairs for Swaney’s Dry Cleaners, and hemmed drapes for both Peek’n Peak Resort and her church.

She even made Barbie doll clothes for her daughters.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and enjoyed babysitting the neighborhood children.

Elaine loved to cook for her family and tend to her vegetable and flower gardens.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband David, a sister Marjorie Latta, and five brothers, Russell, Cecil, Edgar, Leslie, and Eugene Brooks.

Elaine will be greatly missed by her family which include three daughters, Jan Peters (Richard), Jill Wellman (Jeffrey), and Jenifer DiSanti; six grandchildren, Ryan Wellman (Mikaela), Lauren, Zachary, and Kyle Wellman, Joseph and Mia DiSanti; and one great-grandchild, Abel Wellman.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 4703 W Ridge Rd. Erie, PA 16506 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the Edder Funeral Home Inc. 309 Main St. E. Girard, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a service to be held there the following day at 10:00 a.m., Rev. William E. Hasting officiating.
