Frances Joan Levinson

DuBois lost a beloved member of our community on May14th when lifelong resident Frances Joan Levinson passed away at Penn Highlands Hospital.

Known as Joan to everyone who knew her, she was born May 21, 1934 to Colonel and Orpah Boring.

She was one of four children including Willa Divins, Ed Boring, and Karen Donahue.

Joan was a graduate of Sandy Township High school.

After high school she met, fell in love with, and married Milton Levinson.

They had four children: Gary, Sandy, Jayne, and Rick.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary, daughter, Sandy, husband, and grandson, Andy.

She is survived by her siblings, two children, daughter-in-law, Marsha, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Joan’s greatest loves were her family and her church. Joan was known for her kind heart, cooking, and embracing hugs.

She was also a member at the local YMCA which she frequented often and had many friends.

Visitation will be held at St.Peter’s United Church of Christ, 13 N. High St., DuBois, PA 15801, on Wednesday, May 18th from 10-11 a.m.

Immediately following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bob Newell and Rev. Phil Colgan officiating.

Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ.
