Shirley M. Buterbaugh, 85, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Mulberry Square.
She was born May 25, 1937, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Ruth (McMullen) and Vernon “Shorty” Coleman.
On June 10, 1961, she married Ross L. Buterbaugh, who preceded her in death on October 26, 1979.
Shirley attended the First Church of God of Punxsutawney and enjoyed reading and her cats.
She is survived by five children, daughter Ruth Rend and husband Desmond of Punxsutawney, son Rev. Brian Buterbaugh and wife Connie of Columbus, IN, son Sheldon Buterbaugh of Punxsutawney, son Donald Buterbaugh and wife Kathy of Newton, NC, and daughter Rebecca Bair of Salem, VA; six grandchildren, Emily Hale and husband Jason of Reynoldsville, John Buterbaugh of Costa Rica, Emma Guse and husband Rev. Evan Guse of Greenville, IN, Logan Rend of Punxsutawney, Heather Bair of Salem, VA, and Ross Buterbaugh of Newton, NC; six great-grandchildren, Vivian Hale, Jaycee Hale, Madeline Guse, Clayton Guse, Kaia Beck and Riley Buterbaugh; sister Catherine Coleman of Punxsutawney and brother Rev. Donald Coleman and wife Darlene of Texas; and a sister-in-law Yvonne Coleman of VA.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at Circle Hill Cemetery in Punxsutawney.
