James G. Keslar

James G. Keslar, 63, of Walston, died Friday, December 2, 2022 at his home following an illness.

Born on December 19, 1958 in Brookville, he was the son of the late James C. and Emma Allshouse Keslar.

He attended Punxsutawney Area High School and was a long time member of the Walston Club.

On May 23, 1981, he married the former Janet Evans in Walston, PA. She survives.

Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Hetager Drilling as a driller for many years and Young Township in Road Maintenance and Waste Management.

Jim enjoyed working outside and took PRIDE in his lawn care as well as building things with wood.

He was most proud of the last project of a pergola he made for his wife.

He planted vegetables and berry bushes and waited patiently for them to produce.

He LOVED preparing food for others and was known as an amazing cook.

In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by his son, Joshua (RaeAnne Merryman) Keslar; his daughters, Jennifer (Ben Elliott) Keslar and Jamie Keslar; his brother, John DuQuin, his sisters, Gloria Brown and Flora (James) McFee; his grandchildren, Cyrus Grape, Ciara (Shepler) Grajales and Corry Shepler, Quinn and Prudence Elliott; great grandson, Xavier Grape; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents are a brother, William DuQuin; and sisters, Ann Hilliard and Kathryn Shreckengost.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA, has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Keslar.

There will be no services held.

Memorial donations may be made in Jim’s memory to either Lisa’s Ladybugs Patient Care Fund or Hillman Cancer Center.

The family expressed great appreciation for the love and care received from both these entities.

They are all “angels of mercy”.
