William “Bill” Douglas Alley, Jr.

William “Bill” Douglas Alley, Jr., 75, of Anita, passed away on Monday, November 01, 2023, at his home.

He was born on April 11, 1948, in Ivanhoe, Virginia, a son of the late William Douglas Alley, Sr. and Helena Ellen (Adams) Alley.

After graduating from Edgewood Senior High, Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

In May of 1974, he married his sweetheart, Karen Sue Depue. They enjoyed forty-nine years of marriage.

Bill was a self-employed mechanic.

He served on the Board of Directors for Anita Park.

He also helped maintain the parks equipment and fixed their mowers and anything that needed repaired.

He liked to stay busy helping others and he enjoyed the conversations and interactions with everyone he met.

His hobbies included hunting and fishing. With his love of fishing, Bill worked with his brother as part of the “Memory Making Guide” as a fishing guide in Florida.

He also previously enjoyed participating in big fishing tournaments with his brother-in-law, John Piszker.

Bill was also a member of the Reynoldsville Bass Club.

Bill took pride in the various trophy bucks, bear and small game he got during hunting season.

Most of his impressive game was mounted and proudly displayed in his man cave.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Karen Sue (Depue) Alley of Anita; a son, Daniel Travis Alley of York, PA; and a brother, Dennis Reno Alley and his wife Vicki of Frostproof, FL.

He is dearly loved and missed by his two dogs Tigger and Chelsie, whom he walked daily.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Rhonda Kay Cusano and Delores Jean Alley.

In accordance with his wishes there will be no visitation.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
