Alex John Beresheski Jr.

Alex John Beresheski Jr., 78, Falls Creek, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, PA.

Born April 14, 1945, in DuBois, he was the eldest child of the late Alex and Jeanne (Senior) Beresheski.

His family moved to Niagara Falls, NY, where John attended local schools and then returned to Falls Creek to begin his working life.

He was a machinist for Rockwell and then transitioned to a decades-long career with the United States Postal Service.

He started as a mail carrier and later became a maintenance mechanic, which was his true calling.

As a “garage dweller”, John delighted in building and repairing anything from picture frames to classic cars and everything in between.

John was an avid historian and book collector.

He had a special interest in the Civil War, and in particular, the Gettysburg Battlefield, which he visited many times.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a longtime member of the NRA and the Harley Owners Group.

Under a gruff exterior was a golden heart that would do anything for his friends or family.

He will be sorely missed.

John is survived by three brothers, James (Jennifer) of Stokesdale, NC, Gerald (Donna), Ransomville, NY, and Jeffrey (Patricia), Ransomville, NY; eight nieces and nephews of whom he was very fond. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Julie.

Friends and family will be received March 6, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. from the Adamson Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 1312 Chestnut Ave. in DuBois.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10 a.m. from the funeral chapel.

Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

Although flowers are appreciated, donations are encouraged to the American Cancer Society.
