EMLENTON, Pa. (EYT) – Both directions of Interstate 80 are now open following a fatal crash that occurred on the Emlenton Bridge shortly after midnight, March 19.
According to PennDOT Community Relations Coordinator Christina Gibbs, all lanes of I-80 at the Emlenton Bridge were open at about 2:45 p.m. Eastbound lanes had previously opened at 10:28 a.m.
Clarion County Coroner Dan Shingledecker said his office is still working to identify the decedent and their next of kin, all of whom are out of state.
According to a representative of Clarion County 9-1-1, the call came in at 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, for a multi-vehicle crash on the Emlenton Bridge.
I-80, both westbound and eastbound, were closed from Exit 42 to Exit 53.

– Superior Ambulance Service
– St. Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department
– Parker City Volunteer Fire Department
– Knox Volunteer Fire Company
– Clintonville Fire Department
– PennDOT
– State Police Clarion
– State Police Franklin
Rockland Volunteer Fire Department and Shippenville-Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene for traffic control.
As a result of the accident, AC Valley School was on a two-hour delay.
