Virginia Pearl Clevenger

Virginia Pearl Clevenger, 86, of Cochranton, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, following a short illness.

She was born on April 3, 1938, a daughter of Floyd and Edna (Cotterman) Rhoades.

She married Richard Lee Clevenger Sr. on June 28, 1958.

She had worked at Avtex (American Viscose), drove a school bus for many years, worked at Deans Farm Market, and cleaned houses for several wonderful families.

She was a member of Cochranton Grange, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and Station 4.

She enjoyed listening to Bluegrass, playing the Lottery, canning, judging in the home show department at Crawford County, Jamestown Fairs, and volunteering at the soup kitchen.

Her favorite pastime was sitting in her favorite rocker while knitting and watching the hummingbirds.

She is survived by four children, Lesa (Frank) Barnes of McKean, Richard (Pam) Clevenger Jr., of Cochranton, Katrina (Brian) Proctor of Cochranton, and Shannon (Tim) Lang of Saegertown; twelve grandchildren, Josh and John (Lynn) Barnes, Rachel (Bryan) Little, Johnna Clevenger (Steve), Shelby (Bret) Keister, Brianna Proctor, Andrea (Ben) Maddox, Casey (Aaron) Wagler, Ben, Dillon, Seth (Emily) and Zachary Lang; great-grandchildren, Lexxis Maloney-Barnes, Cheyenne Farrell, Riley Barnes, Jamie Clevenger (Kendra), Lucas Little, Sadie and Blake Keister, Heather, Cailan, Juliet, Eleanor, and Abigail Maddox, Adalyn and Alayna Wagler; great-great-granddaughter, Dahlilah Clevenger; brother, Floyd Rhoades; sisters, Linda Brumagin and Wanda Ferry; sister-in-law, Dorothy Rhoades; brother-in-law, Gerald Vaughn; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend of 62 years, Patty Lou Pardee.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard Clevenger Sr., three sisters, three brothers, two nephews, and a niece.

Friends and family will be received at the Dickson Family Funeral Home, Inc 123 S. Franklin St. Cochranton on Sunday, April 21 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. when the Reverend Curt Brenizer will conduct a celebration of life service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Funeral Home.
