Evelyn J. Gresock

Evelyn J. Gresock, 91, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Mahoning Riverside Manor with her family by her side.

She was born April 18, 1933, to Anthony and Anna Rose (Bianco) Perry in Frostburg.

Evelyn was a member of St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Margaret C. Bowles Society, and the Beta Sorority.

She volunteered for Community Action.

Evelyn worked at Sylvania in Brookville, and both the Adrian and Punxsutawney Area Hospitals as a receptionist.

She also was a reading aid for the Punxsutawney Area School District.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, and visiting with her family.

She is survived by four daughters and a son; Michele M. Huey (Ernest), Punxsutawney, John Andrew Gresock (Carol), Punxsutawney, Nicolette A. Boy, Pittsburgh, Regina A. Howard, Frostburg, and Beth Gresock, Pittsburgh; five grandchildren: Laura Uplinger (Justin), Mark Huey, Matthew Gresock, Daniel Gresock (Jessica), and Jessica Boy; two great-grandchildren: Merik and Maris Uplinger; a sister, Nadine Early (Jim), Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Gresock in 1999, a son-in-law Randy Howard, a sister Eleanor Ferrent, and five brothers John, Eugene, William, Leanord, and Richard Perry.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM. with Fr. Vasyl Kadar, Celebrant.

Burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
