Barbara B. Visneski

Barbara B. Visneski, 92, of Saint Marys, PA, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Penn Highlands Hospital in Dubois, PA.

Born March 16, 1932, in Austin, PA, she was the daughter of Benjamin C. and Florence M. Swanson Barnett.

On May 24, 1952, she married Walter J. Visneski Sr. They were married for 67 years at the time of Walter’s passing in 2016.

Barbara worked at the family-owned grocery store when she was ten years old.

She also worked as a babysitter for her family’s Doctor while in school.

She started working at Sylvania in Emporium, PA after graduation from Austin High School, class of 1950.

She later worked at Sylvania in Saint Marys, PA for 31 years before retiring.

After retiring, Barbara and Walter retired to Austin, PA, where they enjoyed the majority of the rest of their lives together.

Barbara is survived by her children: Walter J. Visneski Jr. of Strattanville, Kathleen (Brian) Baker of Johnsonburg, Valerie Mowrey of Saint Marys; her grandchildren are Christopher (Kerry) Ehrensberger of Coudersport, Justin Visneski of New Bethlehem, Benjamin Visneski of New Bethlehem, Kara Birckbichler (Raymond) of Strattanville, JoElla Fiorella of Saint Marys, Joey Cherry of Saint Marys, Laura Valentine (Josh Krise) of Saint Marys, and Dustin Valentine of Saint Marys.

She is also survived her great grandchildren: Keylee Visneski, Scarlett Visneski, Zidaine Crosby, Zyah Crosby, Shanea Ehrensberger, Brandon Ehrensberger, Matthew Ehrensberger, Olivia Ehrensberger, Ziabella Fiorella, Hunter Casilio, Jena
Casilio, Jada Casilio, Lahayla Valentine, and one great great grandson, Arlo Vandermark.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Mary Beth Visneski, and a grandson, Michael Ehrensberger, a sister, Bernadine E. Nuschke, and brother, Charles V. Barnett.

Barbara is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Barbara is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In following with Barbara’s wishes, there will be no funeral, viewing, or memorial service.

There will be a mass celebration at a later date in July.
