Young Family Loses Home in Accidental Fire

RIDGWAY BOROUGH, Elk Co., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a residential fire that destroyed a home in Ridgway on Sunday has been ruled accidental.

According to Ridgway-based State Police, a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Ridgway Fire Department investigated a structure fire that destroyed a residence on Rock Street in Ridgway Borough around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12.

No injuries were reported.

Police say during the investigation, it was determined the fire was accidental in nature and originated on the exterior of the home.

According to police, the damage is estimated at $150,000.00 and the victims, listed as a 23-year-old Ridgway man, a 22-year-old Ridgway woman, and a 9-month-old male, do not have insurance.
