Dog Shot While Attacking Miniature Pony

NORTH MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police are investigating an incident where a dog was shot while attacking a miniature pony in North Mahoning Township.

Around 5:33 p.m. on March 3, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated an investigation into an incident that occurred on Yoder Road in North Mahoning Township, Indiana County.

Police say it was determined that three dogs, two pit bulls and one Labrador retriever mix, attacked a miniature pony. Then during the attack, the owner of the pony shot and fatally wounded one of the pit bulls, and the other two dogs ran from the scene.

Police say the owner(s) of the dogs is unknown at this time.

According to police, the other two dogs were later located on Laska Road in Jefferson County.
