Lynn G. Dobson

Lynn G. Dobson, 87, of Worthville, died Thursday, April 15, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 8, 1934, in Punxsutawney and was the son of Zelda (Dinger) and N. Perry Dobson.

On September 4, 1954, he married Joann Keihl, who survives.

Lynn was a member of the Stanton United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Hobah Masonic Lodge (Brookville, PA) and the Coudersport Consistory. He graduated in 1953 from Punxsutawney High School.

After working 32 years for National Fuel, he retired as a subforeman and compressor station operator at Knox Station. He enjoyed the lifetime friendships he shared with his coworkers at National Fuel and looked forward to monthly luncheons with fellow retirees.

In addition, Lynn enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, trapping and traveling, especially to the Outer Banks, NC, each year with his family. He enjoyed gardening and maintaining his farm. Most of all, he enjoyed time with his family and, attending many sporting events his five grandchildren participated in.

He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, as well.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Joann, and his two daughters, Jolynn (Mike) Cook and Joan (Mike) Gillung, all of Worthville.

Five grandchildren also survive, Cole (Carly) Cook of Brookville, Aaron (Arielle) Gillung of Mayport, Caitlin (Bradley) Brocious of Lewisburg, Nicholas Gillung (friend, Tori) of Pittsburgh, and Carlie (Jordan) Wells of Vienna, WV.

Completing his family are four great-grandchildren, Addilynn and Emilia Brocious, Rhett Gillung and Camryn Cook, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by two siblings, Lois (Dobson) Scott and Jay Dobson.

Friends and family will be received from 3 to 6 p.m., on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2021, at the Stanton United Methodist Church.

Interment will be in the Worthville Cemetery.
