Barbara Ann (Murray) McGee

Barbara Ann (Murray) McGee, 85, of Reynoldsville.PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022, while a resident at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor, in Brookville, PA.

On April 21, 1936, Barbara was born to the late John Sr. and Jenny (Mowrey) Murray in DuBois, PA.

She attended the Reynoldsville School District.

On January 23, 1954, Barbara married Bud Arthur McGee in Reynoldsville; Bud preceded her in passing in 1974.

She worked at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA, as a cook for many years until she retired.

Barbara was a member of the Falls Creek Eagles, Brookville Fireman’s Club, and the Red Hat Society.

She attended church and was Christian by faith.

Barbara loved to craft, she especially enjoyed crocheting and sewing grannie square blankets.

She liked the color red and spending time at the beach.

She was a busy body and liked to always be on the run.

She was a very caring person who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.

She would volunteer at food pantries in the area, specifically the Brookville Food Pantry, and helped with political campaigns. Barbara enjoyed cooking and baking, for a period of time she even baked cakes for weddings.

She loved her family and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Barbara is survived by two daughters; Connie (Lynn) States; Linda (Rodney) Wilson; four siblings; Katherine Davis; Janet Kester; Lloyd Murray; John Murray; ten grandchildren; April States; Matthew States; Ryan (Jesse) States; Corryn Adams; Ryan McGee; Kayla Golnoski; Jenna Wolfe; Tarra White; Erin White; Jordan White; great grandchildren; Kiera Zeok; Paige Zeok; Zackary States; Bradley States; partner; Charlie Knapp; and a good friend; Louise Winters.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara is preceded in death by two sons; Allen Arthur McGee, 1974; Robert Lee McGee, 2002; two siblings; Mary Clark; and Shirley Radford.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Brookville Firemen’s Club, 202 E. Main St., Brookville, Pa 15825.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place immediately following the visitation, beginning at 11:30am and officiated by Rev. Mark Myers.

Services have been entrusted to the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851.
