Betty Lou (Lockyer) (Smith) Brownlee

Betty Lou (Lockyer) (Smith) Brownlee, 92, of Munderf, PA, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, while a resident at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA.

She was born on January 4, 1930, to the late Herbert and Iola T. (Gearhart) Lockyer in Luthersburg, PA.

Betty spent her younger years caring for her five children, who she loved very much.

She was Methodist by faith and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She married Russell “Puffy” Smith in 1947; Puffy preceded her in passing in January of 1995.

She later married Owen Brownlee in January of 1986; Owen also preceded her in passing in May of 1995.

Betty loved to make candy, and the people in her life loved that she did.

She enjoyed traveling and took multiple trips throughout her life, including trips to Alaska and a cruise.

Betty was a caring and kind woman, who touched the lives of all those she encountered.

She will be dearly missed by her family and community.

Betty is survived by five children; Harry (Joann) Smith of Munderf, PA; Sandra (Harold) Wilson of Allens Mills, PA; Douglas (Marge) Smith of DuBois, PA; Gary Lee Smith of Reynoldsville, PA; Dean (Penny) Smith of Reynoldsville, PA; one sister; Virginia “Ginny” Shick of Surprise, AZ; nine grandchildren; Holly; Paul; Scott; Russell; Caleb; Trudy; Tara; Shane; Greta; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 3pm to 5pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation, beginning at 5pm and officiated by Pastor Jerry Spencer.

Final interment will take place at the Munderf Cemetery, Polk Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Christ the King Manor, 1100 W. Long Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
