Josephine Ann “Joey” Binkowski

Josephine Ann “Joey” Binkowski, beloved wife of the late Peter Binkowski, died peacefully at the age of 95 on November 17, 2022, at her daughter’s home in DuBois, PA, where she had resided for the last several years.

Born in Mount Carmel, PA, she was the daughter of the late Teofil and Aniela (Gabauer) Prostko.

Joey was a resident of Derby, CT, for over 60 years and was a devout member of St. Peter and St. Paul Church. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the P. Francini Construction Company for many years until her retirement.

Joey was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed champagne with her husband, cooking for her family and the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. After retirement, she helped care for her grandchildren. She prayed the rosary daily, and cherished having her family over for Sunday dinner.

She is survived by her devoted children: Peter Binkowski and his wife Mary, of Broomfield, CO; Alan Binkowski and his wife, Janet of Pawcatuck, CT; Nancy Beaulieu and her husband, Ryan of Bethany, CT; and Carol Rehermann and her husband, Richard of DuBois, PA. She had thirteen cherished grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law and lifelong neighbor, Maura Binkowski. She was the last surviving member of the Prostko family.

Joey was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Prostko; and sisters, Catherine Rogevich, Helen Pilarsky, Genevieve Jason, Sister Jane Mary Prostko and Rita Strecker.

Memorial donations may be made to a local food pantry and/ or St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 118 S. State Street, DuBois, PA 15801.

Funeral services were held in Ansonia, CT. Local arrangements were handled by the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
