Andrew J. “Butch” Sutika Jr.

Andrew J. “Butch” Sutika Jr., 76, of Grampian, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born June 3, 1947, in York, PA. he was the son of Andrew J. and Veryl J. (Danver) Sutika. He was a 1965 Graduate of Curwensville Area High School and a 1969 Graduate of Gannon University. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was an accountant for Hepburnia Coal Company for 13 years and Co-Owner of Penn Grampian Coal Company for 13 years. Andy also served as manager for 3 departments for DRMC/Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital for 17 years.

Butch was a member of the Curwensville American Legion post 505, St. Timothys & St. Bonaventure Knight of Columbus, was a past president of the Clearfield Curwensville Country Club, and a member of Treasure Lake.

On September 30, 1972, at St. Bonaventure R.C.C. in Grampian, he wed Alyce (Miller) Sutika who survives, of Grampian, two daughters Erin S. Horne (David) of Cary, NC, and Kristin S. Ondrak (Christopher) of Emerald Isle, NC. Grandchildren Graycen Horne, Scarlett Horne, Liam Ondrak, Rowan Ondrak, and Zoe Ondrak. Eight brothers and sisters Carolyn Shaffer (Donald), Sandy Verrelli (Gary), Michael Sutika (Betty Jo), John Sutika (Cheryl), all of Grampian Patricia Bressler (Scott) of Olanta, Mary Kay Reiter (Ron) of Curwensville, Nancy Valenza (Ron) of Clearfield and Donna Taylor of S.C. And numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Bonaventure Church Grampian, PA on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 10 AM with Father Joseph Staszewski as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Military honors will be held at the cemetery by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.

Family and friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home of Curwensville on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 5-8 PM.
