June O. Shilliday

June O. Shilliday, 86, of Franklin, passed away at her residence on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Born in Franklin on April 3, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Wood and Adah Sheatz Wood.

June had a wonderful childhood growing up in Franklin and she graduated from Franklin High School in 1956.

First and foremost, June was a perfect mother to three children raising them in a loving home where they came first in every aspect of her life.

June loved animals and had at least one dog with her nearly every day of her life.

She was active in the community for many years as a volunteer tutoring children in elementary school, working at the hospital as a candy striper, and at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

June worked at the Franklin Animal Clinic for many years, and at Feldman Jewelers for almost a decade after that, and became a talented jewelry repair technician.

June was an active gardener and loved maintaining her yard at her river cottage in Belmar Village.

June was married to James E. Shilliday Jr. and he preceded her in death.

Surviving family members are Jone M. Shilliday and husband Tim Kirk, James E. Shilliday III and his wife Betsy, and Joel D. Shilliday and his wife Elizabeth; and five grandchildren, McKenzie Shilliday, JJ Shilliday, Aiden Shilliday, Addie Shilliday, and Amelia Shilliday.

There will be no visitation or services and she will be laid to rest at Cochranton Cemetery
