Edwin M. “Ed” Lohr

Edwin M. “Ed” Lohr, 93, of Centerville, passed away Sunday morning April 21, 2024, at Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

Ed was born on October 9, 1930, in Fertigs, PA, the son of the late Maurice and Florence Watterson Lohr.

He was married to Patricia “Pat” Chrispen on November 2, 1968, in New York.

Ed was a veteran having served in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict.

Ed had worked at General Electric in Erie.

He was also the owner of Lohr Trucking, Lohr Tire Sales, and opened Sylvan Equipment in 1978, all located in Centerville.

Ed was a member of the Titusville Methodist Church.

He was quite active belonging to many fraternal organizations which include the Titusville Lodge No. 754 F. & A.M., Titusville Moose Club, Titusville Elks Club, the Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion, the Pulaski Club in Oil City, the Colonel Drake Shrine Club, and the Zem Zem Shrine in Erie.

Ed was an avid worker.

Besides his work, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, sometimes in his motorhome, camping, mowing grass, but especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his wife Pat of Centerville; a son, Eric Lohr and wife Jamie of Centerville; special niece JoAnn Chelton and husband Dave of Oil City; grandchildren, Ty Lohr and wife Maddie of Camp Hill, PA, Sydney Lohr of Titusville, Paige Wyatt and husband Matt of Utica, and Brody Lohr of Centerville; 7 great grandchildren; his former daughter-in-law, Judy Wagner and husband Steve of Titusville; two brothers, Harvey Lohr of New Castle and Russell Lohr of Oklahoma; sisters, Shirley Porter of Guys Mills, Audrey Cleland of Centerville, Judy Sargeant of Baltimore, MD, and Rosalie Antalek of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Lohr; grandsons, Ty Gregory Lohr and Nathan Bloom; two brothers, Don and Chuck Lohr; a half-brother, Paul Jordan; and a sister, Bessie Lohr.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354 on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from noon to 1:00 PM at the Titusville Methodist Church 302 W. Walnut St. Titusville, PA 16354.

The funeral service will be conducted at the church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Barnard officiating.

Interment will be in New Richmond Cemetery.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 1645 W. 8th Street Erie, PA 16505.
