Mary E. Walters

Mary E. Walters, age 76, of Emporium, PA, died April 24, 2024, at Guy & Mary Felt Manor of Emporium, after a lengthy illness.

A daughter of the late Clifford and Katherine (Zernell) Plaszenski, she was born on February 11, 1948, in DuBois, PA.

Mary is survived by two children, Jeanette Tiemissen of Emporium and Ted Walters of Myrtle Beach, SC; a stepson, Dan Walters of Emporium; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Clifford (Marylin) Plaszenski and Curtis Plaszenski.

Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Williams; a stepson, Scott Walters; a son-in-law, Thomas Tiemissen; two sisters, Patricia Emmert and Katherine Burkett; a brother, Craig Plaszenski; an infant brother, Charles Plaszenski; and a nephew, Raymond Serafini.

Mary was raised in Penfield and lived all her adult life in Emporium.

She had worked as a Cook for the Cabin Kitchen and the Bucktrail Inn; she also worked as a Crossing Guard for the Cameron County School District for ten years.

She enjoyed watching the Pirates, the Penguins, Nascar, and playing Bingo.

There will be no public visitation.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield.

Funeral Services will be held, at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the Funeral Home with Reverend Don Smith.
