Kathy M. Bailey

Kathy M. Bailey, age 69 of Shippenville, passed away Saturday morning, April 27, 2024, at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center where she was a resident for the past two years.

She previously lived in Stattanville for 15 years.

Born March 26, 1950, in Shippenville, she was the daughter of the late John Bailey and Nina Drake Murrin.

Kathy graduated from Keystone High School in 1969 and then went on to complete a course in cosmetology, opening and operating her own shop in Shippenville for several years. 

She was known by many for her work at County Market and Riverside Market, both in Clarion, where she bagged groceries for their customers.

Survivors include two brothers: John Bailey and his wife Marlene (Kline) of Grove City and Jim Bailey and his wife Pam (Campbell) of New Castle; two half-sisters: Sharon Phillips of Farmdale, Ohio, and Joanie Enderson; and her husband: Jerry, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska.

Also surviving are three nieces: Martina House, Tracy Marko, and Cassie Mrozek; five nephews: Joe Bailey, Michael Bailey, Jeff Bailey, Jim Phillips, and Sheldon Phillips; five great-nieces; three great-nephews; and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, William Bailey, and her step-father, Hugh Murrin.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home with Pastor Cindy Duffee officiating.

Interment will take place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shippenville.
