MAHAFFEY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police are investigating a report of an attempted burglary that allegedly occurred in Mahaffey Borough on Friday.
Around 2:00 a.m. on April 16, Punxsutawney-based State Police received a report of an attempted burglary at a residence on West Main Street in Mahaffey Borough.
Police say a witness at the residence informed police that an unknown individual pushed the front door of the residence open then proceeded to reach inside the door in an attempt to defeat the locking chain.
According to police, the individual was unsuccessful in fully unlocking the door and fled the scene in an unknown direction after the witness made her presence in the residence known.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
