DILLTOWN, Pa. – Troopers are investigating after a methamphetamine dumpsite was found in southern Indiana County.
On October 6, at 8:58 a.m., a member of the Troop A, Indiana Patrol Unit was dispatched to Dilltown Heights Road in Buffington Township after a resident who was cleaning up trash in the area reported having found suspicious materials indicative of the one-pot method of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Upon the trooper’s arrival, the Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Laboratory Response Team (CLRT) was dispatched to the scene. In total, the CLRT processed 19 acid generators, three one-pot vessels, two empty containers of Drano, and six empty blister packs believed to be from pseudoephedrine packaging.
The contraband, which was discovered in a wooded area approximately 25 to 150 feet off of the roadway, was safely processed, inventoried, and collected without incident.
No suspects have been identified.
Residents should immediately contact 9-1-1 if they discover a possible methamphetamine dumpsite or hazardous waste believed to be related to the manufacture of methamphetamine. All necessary precautions should be taken to minimize the risk of exposure, contamination, or physical injury to include not touching any of the materials and remaining upwind and uphill from suspected hazardous substances.
