Florence E. Shaffer, age 88 of St. Mary, PA died Friday, February 18, 2022 at her home.
Born on November 1, 1933 in Ridgway, PA, she was the daughter of the late Tilden and Sally (Taylor) Luchs.
On August 28, 1954 she married Vernon A. Shaffer. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2018.
Florence retired from Market Basket Grocery Store as a cashier and had previously worked as an aide at Elk General Hospital for 21 years.
She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ridgway for many years.
Florence is survived by 3 children (David L. Shaffer & wife Colleen of Port Allegheny, PA, Keith A. Shaffer of St. Marys, PA and Vernon L. Shaffer of Ridgway, PA), 4 grandchildren, 2 of whom provided care for her (Jason Shaffer & his wife Heather and Eric Shaffer & his wife Jolene), numerous great grandchildren and 1 brother (Tilden Luchs & wife Donna of Washington).
She was preceded in death by her grandchild Aubrey & her sister Shirley.
There will be no public visitation and a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place in Parklawn Memorial Park.
