AICDAC to Host Series of Virtual Gambling Awareness Trainings

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – The Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission (AICDAC) is committed to addressing substance abuse and its destructive effects.

As part of their mission, they are hosting a series of free virtual gambling training webinars presented by Joshua Mountz.

These sessions aim to raise awareness about gambling addiction and provide valuable insights into current trends and challenges faced by different populations.

Training Sessions:

Current Gambling Trends

  • Date: Wednesday, March 20th
  • Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

In this session, they will explore the lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on gambling. Using data from the National Gambling and Expenditure (NGA&E) study, we’ll delve into trends and look ahead to the future. Understanding these shifts is crucial for planning and prevention.

Problem Gambling and the Aging Population

  • Date: Wednesday, March 27th
  • Time: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Seniors are particularly vulnerable to issues related to problem gambling. During this presentation, we’ll review signs and symptoms that make older adults susceptible. We’ll discuss unique circumstances and explore resources to support seniors, alerting friends, family members, and caregivers when intervention is needed.

Pre-registration is required for each training.
