INDIANA BOROUGH, Pa. – A Florida man was jailed after he led troopers on a vehicle pursuit on Thursday evening, then fled on foot and was taken into custody following a Taser deployment in Indiana Borough, Indiana County.

He was also charged with a summary count of disorderly conduct and 16 summary Vehicle Code violations.

Rosenberger was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Susanne V. Steffee and was remanded to the Indiana County Jail in lieu of $50,000 monetary bail.

On March 21, 2024 at approximately 9:59 p.m., a member of the Troop A, Indiana Patrol Unit assigned to the IUPatty’s Detail was conducting stationary patrol along Philadelphia Street in Indiana Borough when the trooper observed a red Pontiac sedan traveling east on Philadelphia Street at a high rate of speed directly in front of the patrol unit.

The trooper then pulled out and attempted to catch up to the speeding vehicle, which was found to be traveling in excess of 90 mph. The trooper then activated the patrol unit’s emergency lights and sirens and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.

During the pursuit, the suspect endangered members of the public by committing numerous traffic violations, to include red light violations and driving on the wrong side of the roadway, before he eventually brought the vehicle to a stop on Church Street in Indiana Borough.

The suspect then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Troopers gave chase and the suspect, who was later identified as Rosenberger, was apprehended and taken into custody following a Taser deployment.

Troopers later learned that Rosenberger was under the influence of methamphetamine and was believed to have been awake for approximately five days.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 2 at 10:45 a.m.
