June G. Mawhinney, 93, of Franklin, passed away at The Caring Place on Thursday, April 11, 2024 after a sudden decline in health.
Born June 23, 1930 in Elkton, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and August Moellinger Warrington.
She was married to Daryl W. Mawhinney on September 26, 1951 in Polk and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2013.
June was proud and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Debora J. Perry and her husband David of Polk, Denise K. Smith and her husband Roger of Franklin, and Darlene J. Reece and her husband Ken of Crossville, TN; four grandchildren, Kevin Smith and his wife Jamie of Polk, Matthew Smith of Franklin, Elizabeth Dickson and her husband Jamie of Atlanta, Ga and Emily Martin and her husband J.T. Columbia, SC; and six great-grandchildren, Declan and Adelyn Smith of Polk, Perry and Samuel Dickson of Atlanta, GA and June and William Martin of Columbia, SC.
Additionally surviving are two brothers, Henry B. Warrington and his wife Rose of Cooperstown and Fred M. Warrington and his wife Peg of Polk; and one sister, Patricia Feltenberger of Polk.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Hester Smith.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin. where family and friends are welcome to attend June’s Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. Monday, with Pastor Diane Whitman, officiating.
