Margaret Jane (Linnon) Hoover

Mrs. Margaret Jane (Linnon) Hoover, of Indian Land, SC, was born on February 24, 1934, in St. Petersburg, PA.

She died peacefully at home on March 26, 2024, surrounded by family.

The youngest of 3, Margaret (Peg) was the daughter of Paul William Linnon and Bessie Marie (Lieberum) Linnon.

She graduated from St. Petersburg High School and received an Associate Degree in Nursing (LPN) from Clarion College.

On June 20,1953, Peg married Daryl (Dick) Richard Hoover.

They lived in Callensburg, PA and Clarion, PA and were blessed with 3 daughters and one son.

Peg was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Clarion.

As the children grew older, Peg began working as a Nurse Aide at Clarion Osteopathic Hospital.

She then returned to college to become an LPN and returned to work at hospital.

During her career she also became a Respiratory Therapist and retired as the Director of Medical Records.

She loved working at the hospital and her pleasant, caring soul was perfect for this career.

The family spent many years camping, especially at Cook Forest.

As empty-nesters, Peg and Dick took two cross country trips, visiting 48 states in the US. Upon retiring, they relocated to Lancaster, SC to be near family.

They became members of First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, where they made many wonderful friends.

These years were spent with their ever-growing family as Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren were added.

In recent years, they relocated to Indian Land, SC and became members of Belair United Methodist Church.

Peg loved spending time with family, especially shopping trips with her daughters and granddaughters and sharing milestone moments and holiday celebrations.

She will be greatly missed.

Peg is survived by her Husband Daryl (Dick) Hoover; Children Darylene (Ted) Finkelstein of Indian Land, SC, Janice (Stanley) Michalski of Charlotte, NC, Mark (Kim) Hoover of Blair, SC; Grandchildren Amy (Mike) Davies, Curt (Jena) McGrane, Carson (Pete) Kidwell, Luke Michalski, Blake Hoover; Step Grandchildren Michael Livecchi, Maddie English, Lilly English; Great-Grandchildren Amy Davies, Sarah Davies, Piper Kidwell, Hudson Kidwell, Colton Kidwell, Walker Kidwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Bessie Linnon; Daughter Barbara Hoover; Brother William Linnon and Sister Elizabeth (Linnon) Ashbaugh.

A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 3:00 PM at Belair United Methodist Church in Indian Land, followed by a reception in the church Fellowship Hall.
