Donald W. Riley

Donald W. Riley, 67, of Oil City, passed away Tuesday morning March 26, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie following an extended illness.

Don was born on April 14, 1956 in Titusville, PA, a son of the late Leslie and Betty Leasure Riley.

He was married to Kathy Hulsizer on June 7, 1975 in Plumer, PA.

Don was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1975.

He had been employed as a machinist at Vertical Seal Company in Neilltown for 34 years until his retirement in 2022.

Don had previously been employed at Grand Valley Manufacturing and U.S. Steel Oil Well Supply in Oil City.

Don enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, family gatherings and campfires.

He also enjoyed golfing and was a member of Vertical Seal’s golf league at Green Acres Golf Course.

He also enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, and carpentry when doing home impovements.

Don is survived by his wife Kathy of Oil City; two sons, Christopher Riley and wife Melissa and children Garrett and Kara of Oil City, and Corey Riley and wife Amy and children Tristan and Chloe of Pleasantville; a great grandson, Bentley Pierce; brothers, Leslie Riley and wife Bertie of Titusville, Charles Riley and companion Marie Borden of Sebastian, FL, David Riley and wife Shelvey of Pleasantville, Barry Riley and wife Heather of Las Vegas, NV, and Brad Riley and wife Becky of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Joan Presto and husband Larry of Neilltown, Ann Wimer of Meadville, Sue Downing of Oil City, Gail Coulter and husband Denny, Beverly Confer and husband Rodney, and Becky Presto and husband Jeff, all of Pleasantville; a brother-in-law, Carl Wright of Pleasantville; a sister-in-law, Janet Riley of Coatesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and William Riley; a sister, Betty Jean Wright; a sister-in-law, Joan Riley; and two brothers-in-law, Ben Wimer and Rick Downing; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Arlene Hulsizer.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and attend the funeral service there on Saturday at 11 AM.
