Helen Louise (Emery) Reinard, 101, of Knox Dale Rd, Brookville, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 25th, 2024 at Brookside Assisted Living in Brookville.
Born Tuesday, December 5th, 1922 in Emerickville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Bruce Emery and Sara Elizabeth Burkhouse Emery.
On Saturday, September 18, 1943 Helen married the love of her life Clarence Max Reinard who preceded her in passing on Saturday, September 21, 1996.
Helen was a 1942 graduate of the Brookville Are High School, had a very strong work ethic all her life, and after graduation she moved to Niagara Falls, NY and worked for Belair Air Craft.
After her marriage to Clarence they lived Greenville, NC while he was in the US Army Air Corp, and upon her husband’s discharge from the service they moved back to Brookville where she worked for Sylvania, and in 1972 at the age of 50 began working as an inspector for Owns-Illinois in Brookville retiring in 1990 after 18 years, and in between she owned and operated school buses for the Brookville Area School District and was one of the first women bus drivers in the district.
Helen was a proud homemaker, loved cooking, baking, and especially hosting Christmas Eve for her family.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting, loved flowers, and was modern technology savvy, keeping in touch with her family and friends through text messages and Facebook.
She was a devoted member of the Center Hill Community Church in Knox Dale where she was a member of the Women in Christ and enjoyed volunteering at Laurel Brooke Landing in Brookville.
Helen is survived by her 4 children Alvin Max Reinard (Michelle) of Brookville, Richard Lee Reinard (Connie) of Brookville, Thomas Ray Reinard (Judy) of Corsica, PA and Sandra L. Haag (David) of Brookville, 1 Sister Nancy Keller (Leroy) of Brookville, 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers Alvin and Harry Emery.
Helen’s wishes were to have a celebration of her amazing life at a later date with friends and family.
She will be interred in the Center Hill Cemetery, Knox Twp., Jefferson Co., PA
The family requests memorial donations in Helen’s loving memory be made to the Center Hill Community Church – 6201 Knox Dale Rd, Brookville, PA 15825 or to the Center Hill Cemetery Association – in care of Kristen Johnson, 25 Center Hill Rd. Brookville, PA 15825.
Arrangements are under the care of the Peterson Funeral Home in Brookville, PA.
